Capacity development

Capacity development is one of the main pillar of the SMART IWRM Medjerda project. Where, it is started a joint initiative for strengthening groundwater into approaches of integrated water resources management.

This Capacity Building and Awareness Raising Strategy has been prepared to address the critical gaps of the partner organization and key stakeholder institutions that are active in water resource management. The long-term objective is to establish the water Network including researchers, ministries, local authorities, NGOs, professionals, and community members to adequately take into account holistic solutions and to ensure sustainable implementation in the pilot area. 

 

SMART IWRM_Medjerda measures and activities are defined to:

  • Improve the availability of information as well as the communication and action ability of all water stakeholders, and end users;
  • Improve human resources development through university education and institution development
  • Support and facilitate the implementation of the IWRM tools and technologies developed in this project.
  • Build knowledge capacity on using innovative scientific tools for SMART Integrated Water Resource Management 
  • Improve the professional level of technical staff and managerial personnel involved in Water Resource Management issues 
  • Disseminate the use of SMART IWRM Medjerda platform as an open data platform
